I'm creating a sleek winter garden themed collection for Valentine's Day with these home decor DIYs. I'm gathering everything from the dollar store and piecing together some neutral and high end Valentine's decor on a budget. I love that this decor can double for some really cute spring decor as well. This decor is versatile and can match with a variety of home decor styles. I'm crushing on these mix of metals, wood, black accents and faux greenery materials that blend so well together to create an awesome collection. Keep reading to find out how I made each piece!
4 Stylish Dollar Store Valentine's Day DIYs
DIY#1: Heart & Kiss Me Table Decor
Materials: (I grabbed everything from the dollar store for all these projects)
2 Shadow Box Frames
2 Metal Corrugated Hearts
2 "Kiss Me" Wood Stickers
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Step 1. Disassemble 2 black shadow boxes so that only one glass insert remains. Remove any sticker packaging.
Step 2. Adhere a metal heart to the center of the glass area of the shadow box frame.
Step 3. Next, remove the raised sticker from behind the wood "Kiss Me" sticker. Adhere the "Kiss Me" sticker underneath the metal heart.
Step 4. Complete the same above steps for each of the the shadow box frames.
Step 5. Then, adhere both shadow box frames together horizontally.
DIY #2: Love on Top Decor
Materials:
Wood Hearts
Wood Plank
Wood Game Tower Block
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Step 1. Grab one wood plank and adhere one wood game block to the center of the wood plank. Adhere the wood block piece horizontally to the plank on the thinner side of the wood block.
Step 2. Grab a wood heart and adhere it to the wood game block piece at a tilted angle.
Step 3. Adhere additional wood hearts one at a time upwards at a tilt.
Step 4. Continue to adhere wood hearts vertically until five wood hearts have been attached.
DIY #3: Grow Love Planter Decor
Materials:
Metal Planter
Metal Phrase Plate
Faux Green Moss
Wood Dowel
Scrap Styrofoam
Up-cycled Grocery Bags (optional)
Large Metal Heart
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Step 1. Adhere new metal signage on the face of the metal planter. (I detached another dollar store decor piece that I had in my craft stash to incorporate in this project).
Step 2. Grab some recycled bags to add as free filler to add some height inside of the metal planter.
Step 3. Add some styrofoam to cover the inside top of the metal planter and sit on top of the recycled grocery bags.
Step 4. Adhere a wood dowel to the back of the large metal heart. Stick the doweled heart into the center area of the styrofoam.
Step 5. Then, add and adhere faux green moss to cover any visible styrofoam.
DIY #4: Love This is Us Sign
Materials:
Metal Love Sign
"This is Us" Shadow Box
Faux Green Moss
Scrap Wood Base
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Step 1. Detach the "This is Us" shadow box to remove the sign.
Step 2. Fill the interior of the shadow box area with faux green moss.
Step 3. Adhere the "This is Us" sign on top of the added faux green moss.
Step 4. Stack each individual decor piece. Grab the wood base and adhere the "This is Us" sign on top.
Step 5. Then, add and adhere the "Love" sign on top.
