5 Beyond Cute Valentine's Day Dollar Tree DIY Decor Crafts

DIY #1.

Materials: (All of these projects use dollar store materials except for some yarn that I already had).

  • Yarn

  • Large Wood Heart

  • Scissors

  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

  • Wood Cylinder Base

  • 1 Bamboo Skewer

Step 1. Add a large dot of hot glue to the center top of one side of the large wood heart.

Step 2. Wrap yarn around sections of the heart to fully cover the wood space. Continue to add glue as needed to keep the yarn securely wrapped around the wood.

Step 3. Adhere a bamboo skewer to the back of the wood heart before you get more than half way to the bottom of covering the heart with yarn.

Step 4. Proceed to cover the rest of the heart in wrapped yarn. Keep adding glue as needed during the yarn wrapping process.

Step 5. Then, stick in and adhere the bamboo skewer into a wood base.

DIY #2.

  • Wood Slatted Heart

  • Faux Fortune Cookies

  • String

  • Small Decorative Wood Hearts

  • Red Acrylic Paint

  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

Step 1. Grab a large slatted wood heart.

Step 2. Start closely adhering faux fortune cookies to the wood heart.

Step 3. Paint the front and back of the small decorative wood hearts using red acrylic paint.

Step 4. Adhere and connect the painted wood hearts using string.

Step 5. Then, attach the chain length hearts to the back of the large wood fortune cookie heart.

DIY #3.

  • Yarn

  • Large Frame

  • Scissors

  • Felt Hearts

  • Clothes Pins

  • Wood Block Pieces

Step 1. Add and adhere horizontal rows of yarn to the inside edge of a large frame.

Step 2. Adhere wood blocks to opposite ends of the bottom of the large frame. (Pictured: I added multiple wood block pieces to the bottom of the frame, but later I decided it looked better to just have one on each end).

Step 3. Then, clothes pin a felt heart onto one of the horizontal strings of yarn. Add as many as desired.

DIY #4.

  • Shadow Box with Beads

  • Felt Heart

  • Wood Letters

  • Cotton Filler

  • Wood Base

Step 1. Deconstruct a shadow box frame. Flip the printed side of the shadow box to reveal a solid background.

Step 2. Adhere a felt heart to the solid background.

Step 3. Adhere the shadow box to a base.

Step 4. Adhere "X" and "O" wood letters on top of the felt heart.

DIY #5.

  • A Strand of Wood Beads (Used from above project #4).

  • "Kiss Me" Wood Sticker

  • Felt Hearts

  • Basket

  • Cotton Filler

  • Faux Fortune Cookies (Used from above project #2).

  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

Step 1. Add cotton filler in the middle before combining and adhering to felt hearts together.

Step 2. Adhere the attached wood bead strand from project #4 to the stuffed felt heart.

Step 3. Make a small tassel and adhere it to the end of the beaded strand.

Step 4. Adhere the wood "Kiss Me' sticker to the face of the beaded tassel felt heart.

Step 5. Create additional stuffed felted hearts.

Step 6. Grab a basket and fill with remaining faux fortune cookies, stuffed felt hearts, and the beaded tassel heart.
