Lets make some stylish elevated dollar store home decor! I’m beyond happy with how this fall decor turned out. I’m giving another sleek option for decorating the foam pumpkins from the dollar store. This upgraded decor from $1 looks chic and high end! I'm using the hyro-spray paint method to give the look of a marbleized effect. This process is simple and provides a show stopping look. Materials: (What I used)
Foam Pumpkins
Spray Paint
Scissors or Utility Knife
Tin Pail
Tin Stove Top Cover
Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Decorative Modern Bowl
Step 1: Grab a tin pail and stove top cover from the dollar store,
Step 2: Paint both items with white chalk paint to be used as the base color.
Step 3: Add a couple of base coats and allow the paint to dry.
Step 4: Fill a bowl with water and add different color spray paint to the water.
Step 5: Roll the exterior of the tin pail in the spray paint to cover the pail.
Step 6. Submerge the stove cover into the water filled bowl. Add spray paint to the water and lift up the cover slowly to make sure the inside of the item is coated.
Step 7: Allow time for the pail and the cover to completely dry . Use glue to adhere both pieces together.
Marble Pumpkin Candle Holder
Materials:
Foam Pumpkin
Pen/Pencil
Candle Jar
Spray Paint
Utility Knife or Scissors
Step 1: Trace the base of the candle jar area on the top of the foam pumpkin.
Step 2: Cut out the traced circle and remove the piece.
Step 3: Paint the foam pumpkin using white chalk paint. (Optional). Allow the paint to dry.
Step 4: Add spray paint to the water like the previous above steps. Dip and roll the pumpkin on the water spray paint.
Marble Pumpkins
Materials:
Foam Pumpkins
Spray Paint
Step 1: I started with painting blank foam pumpkins with a coat of white chalk paint.
Step 2: Add your choice of spray paint colors to the water.
Step 3: Swirl the foam pumpkin into the spray paint water to coat the pumpkin.
