I feel like you know it's fall when it's time to bring out the pumpkins! I'm creating some polished fall decor using dollar store materials. I really like to craft with materials from a variety of different stores. But, I also like to challenge myself with making dollar store materials look more expensive. I like the look of Forever Roses and I decided to create a similar version using all dollar store materials and pumpkins. I also made some super cute faux concrete candle holders and a rope tray. I'm really excited about how everything turned out! Continue to see how everything was made!
Forever Pumpkin Decor
Materials: (Everything is from the dollar store except my everyday craft tools and some scrap materials).
Sticker Letters
2 Gift Boxes
Mini Styrofoam Pumpkins
Burlap Ribbon
Scrap Styrofoam
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Acrylic Paint
White Chalk Paint
Recycled Grocery Bags (optional)
Step 1: Grab two equal sized gift boxes from the dollar store and paint all the sides using white chalk paint. (Remove the handles from the box).
Step 2: Add a coat of off-white paint on the top of the initial chalk paint coats. (The goal is to make sure that the print on the boxes is completely covered).
Step 3: Add sticker letters to the face of one of the boxes after all of the coats of paint have completely dried. (I chose to spell "Forevr Pumpkins" because I was missing an extra "E").
Step 4: Glue both gift boxes together to create one bigger sized box.
Step 5: Throw some bags in the boxes to add as filler. Add some styrofoam to the top opening of the gift boxes. Paint the the top of the exposed styrofoam for blended appearance.
Step 6: Adhere mini styrofoam pumpkins to the styrofoam base.
Step 7: Add a ribbon to tie around the box.

Rope Tray

Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Step 1: Grab some rope and start to roll the rope around like a flat cinnamon swirl.
Step 2: Add hot glue to secure the rolled rope as you continue to make it larger.

Step 4: Then, stack and hot glue rope around the perimeter of the base to keep any contents placed inside from falling out.
