Today, I am transforming my old Ikea Lack table by combining it with a storage cube purchased from Lowe's. I decided to switch up this old Ikea lack table that was just sitting and collecting dust. I thought it would make the perfect activity table for my toddler daughter. A nice table set can be expensive. I love that I can reuse what I already have and make it look completely new. To elevate this simple setup, I am adding a stylish and chic sherpa waterfall edge stool. Completing the look, I am coordinating it with a vibrant abstract spray painted table. Take a look at how to achieve this furniture makeover below!
Abstract Spray Painted Table
Materials:
Ikea Lack Table
Variety of Spray Paint Colors
Black Paint
Roller Paint Brush
Step 1: Start with a piece of up-cycled furniture that could use a refresh. Here I'm using my old Ikea Lack table.
Step 2: Paint a fresh coat of black paint to cover the table.
Step 3: Start by spraying on some white spray paint.
Step 4: Spray on multiple bright colored spray paints. I sprayed on random lines and shapes in different colors to create an abstract design.

Materials:

Upholstery Foam
Sherpa Material
Batting

Step 1: Assemble a storage cube based on the packaged instructions.
Step 2: Roll on a couple of coats of black paint to cover the inside and exterior sides of the cube. I decided to change the color of the cube to match the base color of the table.
Step 3: Layer on upholstery foam on top of the painted storage cube.
Step 4: Wrap the foam around the cube. Mark and trim off the excess foam.
Step 5: Drape over batting on top of the upholstery foam.
Step 6: Trim off some the excess batting.
Step 7: Use a staple gun to adhere the foam and batting to the storage cube.
Step 8: Add sherpa fabric on top of the stapled batting. Staple on the material along all the edges and the bottom of the edges. Make sure to pull the fabric tight prior to stapling.
I'm excited about the end result of this furniture makeover! I feel like it looks edgy and modern. Could you see yourself incorporating this in your home decor? Tag me @Craftingwithcass on Instagram if you decide to create your own! Subscribe to the blog for everything DIY and NEW updates!
