Crafting personalized birthday accessories adds a special touch to any celebration. One fun and creative idea is making "Happy Birthday sunglasses" using simple materials like alphabet beads and rhinestones. I seen something similar to buy on Amazon and decided to make my own version. These sunglasses not only brighten the party atmosphere but also serve as memorable keepsakes. This step-by-step guide walks you through creating your own blinging birthday sunglasses with items you can find at Dollar Tree and hobby stores.

Materials Needed

Before starting, gather the following supplies:

  • Plain sunglasses (preferably in a solid color)

  • Alphabet beads

  • Rhinestones (Similar to what I used)

  • Half Cut Pearl Beads

  • Strong craft glue

  • Tweezers (optional, for precise placement)

These materials are affordable and easy to find, making this project accessible for crafters of all skill levels.

Preparing Your Workspace

Set up a clean, flat surface with good lighting. Lay down some newspaper or a craft mat to protect your area from glue spills.

"BIRTHDAY BISH" Sunglasses

Step 1:

Start by deciding how you want to arrange the beads and rhinestones on the sunglasses.

Step 2:

Use a strong hold glue to adhere the beads to the glasses. Press the beads firmly onto the sunglasses frame in the order of the phrase "BIRTHDAY BISH."

Step 3:

Once the beads are secure, decorate the sunglasses with rhinestones to add sparkle and color. Use tweezers or a tool to pick up and position the rhinestones precisely.

Step 4:

After attaching all beads and rhinestones, let the sunglasses dry overnight. This ensures all decorations are firmly set and prevents them from falling off during use.

"BIRTHDAY BAADDIE" Sunglasses

Step 1:

Use the same method to decorate these glasses as you did with the first pair. Use a strong hold glue to adhere the beads to the glasses.

Step 2:

Press the beads firmly onto the sunglasses frame in the order of the phrase "BIRTHDAY BAADDIE."

Step 3:

Clean off any visible glue residue with a damp cloth or cotton swab before it dries. I included extra letters in the word to create more balance.

Now, you have two pairs of personalized sunglasses that enhance your style for celebrating your special day. Wear these dressed up or down.
