Today I'm sharing an inexpensive way to up-cycle boxes for some fun and affordable DIY party decorations. This DIY is such a clever and budget friendly way to dupe some large decor letter boxes. I purchased some boxes from the home improvement store and painted them my desired color. You can save some money if you already have some boxes from large packages already laying around. I made the mistake of getting rid of all the boxes I had cluttering up my garage before I did this project. I noticed that most of the decorative letter boxes for baby showers and birthday decor appeared to be small for the price. You can create some larger eye catching boxes with this DIY. See how to make them below!
Materials:
Make it:
Step 1: Grab a box and start painting with a base paint and primer. Depending on your paint color choice a white primer paint may not be needed. For some of the boxes I didn't even use a base coat.
Step 2: Cover and paint the entire outside of the box. I found using a paint roller was the most effective way.
Step 3: Use a Cricut to cut out some large letters on vinyl.
Step 4: Weed out the vinyl.
Step 5: Create more letters and words for the other boxes.
Step 6: Adhere the letters to the box.
Step 7: Use a hot glue gun to seal the boxes closed.
Stack all your finished boxes together and you have some impressive party decor!
