Cheap and Easy Home Decor Craft Ideas to Make Year Round Using Rope | DIY Home Decor

Today I'm sharing some fresh and modern DIY rope craft ideas. I'm creating contemporary home decor pieces that can enhance both your indoor and outdoor areas. For these DIY projects, I'm utilizing rope to design large, modern lanterns and a rope bowl with a woven appearance. See how everything is made below!

Materials

Rope
Frames
Glue
Battery Operated Candles
Wooden Dowels

Rope Lantern

Step 1: Gather two square frames, rope, and glue. (Later, I chose not to paint the frames as shown above.)

Step 2: Start with a frame and the frame insert. (I'm up-cycling these frames and using a new cardboard insert.)

Step 3: Secure wooden dowels to the corners of each frame.

Step 4: Unwind and wrap the rope around the dowels, using glue to secure it as you wrap.

Step 5: Continue to wrap the rope from end to end of the frames. I allowed a little space between the layers of rope.

Step 6: Cut the rope and attach it to the top edge of the frame to serve as a handle.

Decorative Rope Bowl

Step 1: Begin by coiling the rope around itself and securing it with glue.

Step 2: Keep wrapping the rope and applying glue until it increases in size.

Step 3: Begin attaching and securing the rope along the edges to form a bowl shape.
