I'm salvaging a worn out footstool that was about to be headed for the trash. I'm not sure if it was a legit footstool. It could have been intended to be used for something else lol. But, that's how I'm using this piece of furniture. I grabbed some fabric and some other tools from the craft store and I got to work! This was my very first attempt at a furniture flip. I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I figured it wouldn't be that hard to disassemble and reassemble something back together. I was actually impressed with how this furniture flip turned out. Take a peak below!
Materials:
Footstool
Batting
Fabric
Black Paint
Staple Gun
Before
Step 1: Start with footstool that you want to flip.
Step 2: Disassemble the existing footstool using a screw driver. Tip: I found the easiest way to do this was using an electric screw driver.
Step 3: Paint and refresh the legs of the footstool. (I removed a previous sticker from the legs and gave the legs a fresh coat of black paint).
Step 4: Wrap batting around the wood board. Use a staple gun to attach batting to the perimeter wood.
Step 5: Cut the fabric of choice and wrap the fabric material on top of the batting. Tuck under the fabric seams and staple the fabric on top.
Step 6: Finally, assemble the furniture back together.
This definitely was an easy furniture refresh. What do you think? Come say hi and tag me @Craftingwithcass on Instagram if you decide to create your own! Subscribe to the blog for new DIYs and NEW updates!
