DIY 4TH of July Fashionable Denim Jacket That You Need in Your Closet
I'm throwing it back to one of my favorite Fourth of July projects. I love this Americana themed denim jacket that I DIY'ed using a jean jacket that I found at the thrift store. I distressed the jacket and added some patches for some additional texture and contrast. It turned out great and It's a true staple denim jacket in my wardrobe! Keep scrolling to find out how I made it......
Here's what I used.
Fabric Puff Paint
Fabric Spray Paint
Iron-On Patches (Not Pictured)
Start off by bleaching a plain denim jacket. I randomly poured bleach on the jacket in different spots and let it sit for a minute before tossing it into the washing machine.
Distress the denim jacket "where you see fit" using a utility knife.
Use white puff paint to write "Since" in cursive at the top of the jacket.
Use red fabric spray paint to write your favorite year or birth year on the back of the jacket in a large font.
Use a paint brush to trace over the red paint using white fabric paint.
Add iron-patches as desired.
Add gems to the collar, sleeve, and any other spaces that will enhance the jacket.
Optionally, I cut the the denim tag off the back of another pair of popular brand jeans and added it to the bottom back of them jacket.
There you have it! A distressed vintage look denim jacket for Fourth of July. I love everything about this jacket! This oversized jean jacket is the perfect apparel to DIY for this holiday. Comment below if your excited for 4th of July!
