I'm loving this assortment of flipped dollar store Christmas DIY decor. I'm making inexpensive plastic items for a dollar look like money! Check out how I created some faux mercury metallic look decor mixed with some faux stone Christmas ornaments. I really appreciate how a little spray paint changes the complete look of each of these decor pieces. See how I made the transformations below!
Mercury Metallic Accent Decor Bowl
Materials:
Plastic Bowl
Black Spray Paint
Wire Basket
Empty BB&W Candle Jar
Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks

Step 1: Grab a plastic bowl and wire basket from the dollar store. Remove the sticker from the bowl.

Step 2: Spray on some metallic spray paint to the interior and exterior of the bowl. ( I tried to allow some of the clear area to be exposed.)

Step 3: Pour vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray vinegar and squirt black spray paint onto the bowl to give it a mercury metallic appearance.

Step 4: Allow the bowl to dry. Adhere the wire basket to the bottom of the finished bowl.

Step 2: Add stoneware spraypaint to coat the top of ornament.

Snow Globe Storage Jar

Step 1: Paint the plastic glasses using a mix of vinegar, metallic and black spray paint.

Step 2: Allow some of the clearness of the glass to still show.

Step 3: Use hot glue to adhere the plastic glases together to create a candlestick holder.

Step 4: Ahere two plastic glasses for shorter candlestick holders. Adhere three plastic glases for a longer candlestick holder.
