4 Upscale Modern and Sleek Dollar Store Christmas Decor DIYS

4 Upscale Modern and Sleek Dollar Store Christmas Decor DIYs

I'm making another stop at the dollar store to create some modern and sleek Christmas decor. I'm contrasting black, wood, plaid and metals to create some Christmas decor pieces that POP! This project is a fun and affordable way to add some sleek Christmas decor to any space. I'm really satisfied with how everything turned out. Keep scrolling to see how each piece in this Christmas collection is made.

Let It Snow Sign

*I purchased all the materials for these projects from the dollar store except for the black acrylic paint and hot glue gun with hot glue sticks.

  • "Let it Snow" Wood Cut-Out

  • Black Acrylic Paint

  • Wood Blank Planks

  • Hot Glue Gun with Glue Sticks

  • Game Wood Block Pieces

  1. Paint the wood "Let it Snow" sign using acrylic black paint.

  2. Grab the wood plank and wood blocks to adhere to the wood plank as support for the sign.

  3. Adhere the "Let it Snow" sign in front of the wood block support pieces.

  • Wood Snowflake Cut-Outs

  • Up-cycled Plastic Jar Top

  • Black 5x7 Frame

  • Hot Glue Gun with Sticks

  1. Grab the plaid/buffalo check print pot holder and cut the pot holder to detach the plaid material.

  2. Remove tabs from a disassembled 5x7 frame.

  3. Add hot glue to the top of the lid and cover with the plaid print material.

  4. Glue the edges of the material inside the jar top to create a seamless look.

  5. Grab a wooden snowflake ornament cut-out and adhere on top of the covered jar top.

  6. Adhere the string of the wood snowflake cut-out to middle of the inside of the top of the frame.

  7. Then, adhere the bottom of the frame to the wood blank plank.

Modern Arrow Christmas Trees

In this project, I up-cycled the wood arrow that is used from another project I previously created.

  • Wooden Arrow

  • Metal Arrow

  • Wood Blank Plank

  • Game Wood Blocks

  • Hot Glue Gun with Glue Sticks

  • Black Acrylic Paint

  1. Start by painting the entire wooden arrow using some black acrylic paint.

  2. Let the painted arrow dry.

  3. Use a couple of wood game block pieces as support to adhere to the wood blank plank.

  4. Use a hot glue gun to vertically adhere the painted black arrow in front of the wood game piece thats already adhered to the wood blank plank.

  5. Then, adhere the metal arrow sign next to the black painted arrow, and in front of the other wood game block support.

Modern Snowflake Symmetry Decor

  • 5x7 Frame

  • Wooden Snowflake Ornament Cut-Outs

  • Hot Glue Gun with Glue Sticks

  • Wood Blank Plank

  1. Disassemble a 5x7 frame from glass, inserts etc. (That should leave you with only the "frame" portion).

  2. Carefully remove the flaps from inside the perimeter of the frame.

  3. Use a hot glue gun to adhere the wood snowflake cut-outs to the inside of the frame.(Use glue only where the wood snowflake touches the frame).

  4. Adhere the wood cut-out snowflakes diagonally from each other.

  5. Then, use a hot glue gun to adhere the bottom of the frame to the wood blank plank.
