DIY Modern Outdoor Planter

I’m starting to be fixated on finding different things in my house to upgrade and beautify :) One of my latest undertakings involve an old flower/planter pot that I have been storing in the garage for what seems forever lol! I’m really feeling the physical changes of the facelift from the previous plain plastic terracotta planter to a more modern design. My new favorite stone texture spray paint has made another cameo appearance; in addition to some rope to add some dimension.

Materials

Use white primer to spray paint the exterior of the pot.

Start spray painting the texture spray paint after the white spray paint primer dries.

I cut and burnt the ends of some thick black rope that I purchased from a Home Improvement store. (Burning the ends of the rope helped with stopping the ends of the rope from unraveling) I used a combination of E600 glue and a glue gun to adhere the rope to the top of the planter.

I usually always feel the need to add a pop of color to something "hahaha"

I used a glue gun and spiral wrapped pink yarn around the black rope. I hot-glued the yarn to the rope approximately every five inches to make sure the yarn was secure.

Wrap the pink coiled rope around the top of the planter and secure with hot glue.

There you have it An outdoor planter with a modern flare! This is a great example of a way to refresh an old planting pot or jazz up a new plain planter.
